RFC Members Took 7 Medals Over The WKND

It was a busy weekend for the Rockland Fencers Club as they took 7 medals in 5 different fencing events. The RFC held a season opening tournament last Sunday with Ansel Bobrow & Peter Shine taking Gold and Silver in the Senior Mens Epee event. The final was close with Ansel closing out Peter 15-13 for an exciting bout.

Our next event was Womens Epee with Meredith Joseph and Lucy Jiao taking Silver & Bronze. The girls started the day strong with good pool results and a strong run to the medal rounds. Both fencers lost to Amina Troupe who went on to take the gold. Great job to Meredith and Lucy!

For some fencers it was there first tournament and the RFC saw Dylan McCracken take the bronze medal in Y14 Mens Epee. Dylan fenced well and narrowly beat out his teammate Rudy Arrieta to make the medal rounds. Congratulations to all our first time fencers!

In Foil both Silas Bobrow and Layla Roy took home Bronze medals at the GFA Youth Foil tournament. This was a large foil tournament and Silas fenced well in Y8 Mixed Foil to secure a medal and Layla Roy did the same in Y10 Womens Foil. Strong results for the RFC youth program.
