COACHES

Attila Lukacs
 
 
Attila is a native Hungarian with more than 25 years of fencing experience. As a competitor he achieved many international competition titles, took 9th place at the Cadet World Championships in Venezuela, 3rd at the Junior European Championship in Portugal, and won multiple Junior World Cup medals. Attila has been coaching in the US for over a decade. During this period Attila's students have earned top ranking results in national and international competitions, high school and NCAA tournaments.

Donna Stone

 

Donna is a former Olympian and USA Fencing Hall of Fame member. During her over 20 years competitive fencing carrier she collected a World Championship 5th place, multiple World cup medals, 3 US National Champion titles and 2 Pan American Women's Epee Team gold medals. As a coach Donna has worked with fencers of all ages and levels, her students earned multiple national and international top results.

Jaime Ayala

 

Coach Jaime moved to the States from Mexico in 2008. After graduating from Morris Hills High School, coach Jaime continued his fencing career training under different coaches, including: Slava Danylov, Lisa Campi-Sapery, and Maestro Marcos Lucchetti training for a spot on the Mexican National Team. As a coach, Jaime has helped his students achieve exceptional results, including County Championships and a top 10 in NJ State Championship. Jaime currently coaches the Passaic County Technical Institute fencing team. Coach Jaime received his B.A. in Applied Linguistics with a minor in Asian Studies from Montclair State University.

Jack D’Amico

 

Coach Jack D’Amico has recently joined our team at the Rockland Fencers Club. He comes from the Spada Azzurra Fencing Club in New Jersey where he coached and competed for eleven years. He brings his extensive knowledge and experience in both the traditional and modern techniques of competitive foil fencing. Many of Coach D’Amico’s fencers went on to compete at the college level and received fencing scholarships.

Malcolm Jackson

 

Our very own Malcolm started his fencing carrier 10 years ago at our club. It makes us very proud that after a decade he's joining our coaching crew. Malcolm achieved multiple top ranking results in cadet and junior national cups and championships. He is currently enrolled as a medical student at St. John's University and graduates next year.

Olga Simonov

 

Olga Simonov was a Russian National Epee Team member from 1995 to 2005. Through her 20 years of competitive career she won several medals in national and international competitions. Some of her best accomplishments are, Russian National Championships, Finalist at World Cup in Italy, Champion of Paris International Students Games and Arnold Schwarzenegger Fencing Classic games. She started coaching in 2008. Since then she worked in numerous top performing clubs in the New York area. Her students earned numerous medals in regional and national events. Both of her children 10 and 14 are continuing the family tradition and became competitive fencers.

Steven Griffiths

Steven has over 40 years of fencing experience. Multiple junior and senior USA national team member with numerous national championship titles and international medals. Since he retired from competing he has been coaching in the NY, NJ area. His son Ryan is also a cadet and junior national team member. Cadet world championship silver medalist and has won multiple national and international champion titles.
