Richard Muratore nominated for The Journal News Rockland Scholar-Athlete award.
Congratulations to Richie on his latest award. Richie was one of 35 students nominated for the Journal News award for his outstanding academic and sport achievements. In his senior year Richie was class valedictorian with a 102.92 GPA, posted a 24-0 fencing season and took part in the Nyack HS Chamber Orchestra. Additionally Richie was Math Honors Society treasurer, a recipient of the Rensselaer Medal Award, the American Chemical Society's Award and a National Merit Scholarship Award.
Alongside his extensive academic programs, Richie tutors at the Middle School Homework Club and volunteers at Soup Angels organization.
Richie will continue his academic career at Harvard University majoring in abstract mathematics.
We are very proud of him and wish him continued success. We hope his achievements will be a great example for the upcoming generation of Rockland and Nyack High School fencers.
