About Our Camp

Camp will take place at the prestigious Avon School in Connecticut with top level international coaching crew and highly rated fencers from all over the country.  The Avon Old Farms School is a private boarding school with state of the art amenities, a brand new air conditioned sports complex with locker rooms, weight room, squash courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, pool tables, movie room, single & double dormitory options, and much more!

Camp Includes

-Air conditioned sports facility (where the fencing will be held)-

-Olympic guest lecturers and former national team members-

-Technical, tactical and psychological fencing instruction-

-Minimum of two fencing practices per day-

Fees include room & board, 3 meals per day (7 days and 6 nights).

Arpad Horvath

Vivo Club Owner, Coach and World Champion Arpad Horvath began fencing in Budapest, Hungary in 1989 and was a Hungarian National Team member for six years in a row.  Arpad won the Under-17 World Championship as well as the Under-20 European Championship and received a full scholarship from St. John’s University in New York.  There, he went on to become a two-time individual NCAA men’s epee champion.  Arpad has been coaching for 12 years and has been in coaching in Massachusetts since 2010. He founded Vivo Fencing Club in 2012.

Attila Lukacs

Attila is the owner of the Rockland Fencers Club. He is a former Hungarian National Team member. As a competitor Attila earned multiple Junior World Cup medals, 3rd place team medal at the Junior European Championship and numerous top senior world cup results. During the past decade Attila's students earned numerous NCAA, national and international top results.

Kornel Udvarhelyi

​Kornel Udvarhelyi joined Vivo Fencing Club as Master Coach after most recently coaching at Fencers Club in New York City.  He was the USA Fencing Men’s Epee Team coach at the Tokyo Olympics 2020-2021. Kornel graduated with high honors from the Masters program at the Hungarian Institute of Physical Education. As the Hungarian National Junior Epee Coach, Arpad Horvath – our head Epee coach here at Vivo, then his student, won the Cadet World Championship, Junior World Cup Championship, and a silver medal at the Junior World Championships! His American students have had similar success at the Cadet and Junior World Championships, as well as US National and NCAA Championships.

Molly Sullivan Sliney

Molly Sullivan Sliney was a member of the 1988 and 1992 United States Olympic fencing teams. She also won two gold medals in the 1987 and 1991 Pan American Games. While fencing for the University of Notre Dame, she was the NCAA Women's Foil Individual Champion in 1986 and 1988. Molly also was U.S. National Champion in 1985. In 1987, she led the Notre Dame Women's Foil Team to an NCAA championship by posting a 10-0 record in the tournament. This was the first time the Fighting Irish had ever won an NCAA Women's title in any sport. She graduated with a 160-14 record, and Notre Dame named her 1980s Female Athlete of the Decade.  Molly has been an active public speaker and fencing instructor in the greater Boston area since 1992.
