Grace Hodges & Mike Kang Medal at The RYC/RJCC

Over 1,000 competitors fenced at the RJCC/RYC at Rockland Community College over the weekend and the RFC walked away with 3 medals. Grace Hodges in Y14 Womens Epee went 5-1 in pools giving a 6th overall ranking entering the Direct Eliminations. She went on to beat two strong fencers and lose to the eventual winner by 2 touches in the quarterfinals.

Michael Kang fenced in two events at the RJCC in preparation for the Junior Olympics coming this weekend (2/15-2/18) in Memphis, Tennessee. Mike medaled in both Cadet & Junior Mens Epee events on Saturday and Sunday. In Cadet he went on to win 4 Direct Eliminations and lost in the Semi-Finals earning him a bronze medal. In Junior he fenced well and took 7th in a very competitive age bracket.
